Automatic Gate Valve
Gate valves are typically opened and closed using a wheel shaped twist handle with either a rising or a non rising stem or by a plunger.
Automatic gate valve. Valves may also be automatic driven by changes in pressure temperature or flow. They re often used for vacuum suction and release applications and intermediate cylinder stops. Also known as 3 3 valves these valves close all ports in the off position to stop equipment in a locked position with air pressure holding it in place. Gate valves with actuators use a threaded stem to connect the actuator to the gate via a drive nut around the threads allowing the nut to be turned with a hand wheel or motor.
They can be disassembled for in line servicing. Gate valves have a bonnet for a leak proof seal usually a screw in union or bolted type. These changes may act upon a diaphragm or a piston which in turn activates the valve. Pvc gate valves slip designed for quick shutoff in low pressure or vacuum lines these quick opening valves provide unrestricted flow for low pressure tank and drain applications with liquids gases dry bulk solids and slurry.
Gate valves are typically used to permit or prevent the flow of liquids and are not recommended for regulating flow. The stem may be classified as rising or non rising depending on which end is threaded.
